Columbia Man Charged In Fatal Pedestrian Hit & Run Accident

A Columbia man was arrested on Wednesday following a fatal accident that took place Sunday night. According to the Columbia Police Department, 63-year-old James M. Pittard III of Columbia is charged in connection to the accident that killed a pedestrian, 46-year-old Christine Marie Horn of Columbia, in the 3300 block of Paris Road in Columbia. According to officers, after Horn was hit and killed, the vehicle fled the scene. The investigation led officers to the arrest and Pittard has been charged with involuntary manslaughter, DWI, leaving the scene of an accident, tampering with physical evidence, failure to comply with ignition interlock requirement, and more.
