Columbia Man Arrested for Involvement in 2017 Homicide

Columbia Police have arrested 28-year-old Jeffrey McWilliams of Columbia for his involvement in a 2017 homicide in the 1900 block of Lasso Circle. The homicide took place shortly after 3:30am on December 11th, 2017. Officers arriving at the scene found 28-year-old Augustus Jackson Roberts of Columbia dead. It was determined that Roberts was killed in a home invasion that was drug-related. McWilliams has been charged with second-degree murder, first-degree robbery, and armed criminal action for his involvement in the homicide. The case is still being investigated.
