Columbia Man Arrested In Las Vegas

The Columbia Police and U.S. Marshals have made a second arrest in connection to a homicide that occurred almost three years ago at Cosmo Park in Columbia. The Columbia Police Department says officers located and arrested 19-year-old Maurice D. Banks on Friday afternoon in Las Vegas. Banks is charged with second-degree murder, first-degree assault and armed criminal action. The homicide occurred back in November of 2020, when officers responded to shots fired at the park and found 19-year-old Jermaine Spain of Columbia dead. A second victim was taken to an area hospital and survived the shooting.
