Columbia College and CMU Earn NAIA Baseball Berths

The NAIA announced yesterday the opening round schedules for the national baseball tournament. The nine first round sites will each have five teams in a double-elimination tournament. Columbia College will be the third seed in the Marion, Indiana, bracket at Indiana Wesleyan and will face the second-seeded hosts in the second game Monday. Oklahoma Wesleyan is the top seed, Olivet Nazarene of Illinois is fourth, and Indiana Tech is fifth. Central Methodist is hosting the O’Fallon bracket at CarShield Field, and will be the top seed. They will play at 6 Monday night against the winner of McPherson of Kansas and Doane of Nebraska. William Carey of Mississippi and Benedictine Mesa of Arizona round out the bracket. The nine bracket champions and Lewis-Clark State of Idaho will play at the NAIA Baseball World Series in Lewiston, Idaho, May 28th through June 4th.
