Clawson Hired as South Shelby Superintendent
The South Shelby School Board has selected Salisbury Superintendent Troy Clawson as the next superintendent of schools. Clawson says a number of factors attracted him to the job.
Clawson has served as a school superintendent for 10 years, the last four years at Salisbury.
Clawson will assume his duties as superintendent July 1. Current South Shelby Superintendent Tim Maddex, announced he will resign at the end of the school year. However, he will continue his employment in the school district. Clawson is looking forward to working with him.
The board chose Clawson after partnering with EdCounsel to conduct a national search. Clawson is originally from Brookfield, and earned a Bachelors from the University of Central Missouri, has a Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership and his Educational Specialist degree from William Woods University. Prior to becoming a Superintendent, he served as a building principal for 9 years, working as the High School Principal at South Callaway High School and Tri-County R-IV High School.
