Class 1 Boys Shine on Day 1 of MSHSAA State Wrestling Championships
All but one Class 1 boys wrestler advanced to the final day of the MSHSAA State Wrestling Championships and 19 of the 24 qualifiers will wrestle in the semifinals Thursday morning. Centralia pushed eight to the semis and the Panthers sit atop the team standings. Coach Luke Gramke said Day 1 would continue.

Wyatt Adkisson rolled through a near takedown and turned it into an overtime pin to stay alive in wrestlebacks.

Brookfield is second in team standings and advanced six wrestlers to the semifinals, including Colton Parn.

Marceline’s Ryder Gooch is one of four semifinalists for the Tigers.

Coach Andrew Stewart was happy to see Scout Gooch, coming off a third place district finish, reach the semis.
