Clarence Eugene “Gene” Suddarth of Bowling Green, Missouri passed peacefully into the presence of Our LORD, surrounded by his loved ones on Saturday, June 15, 2024 at the age of 67.

Born April 6, 1957, Clarence Eugene (Gene) Suddarth was the son of Leslie Curtis and Lutie Annabelle Harrison Suddarth.

Survivors include a daughter of the St. Louis area; brothers Daniel Suddarth (Cindy) of Troy, MO, Chris Suddarth of Bowling Green, MO; sisters Judy Myers of Clarksville, MO, Sherry Ansley (Jim) of Wentzville, MO; sister-in-law Janet Suddarth of Elsberry, MO and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his sisters Leslie Kay Suddarth and Joyce Graham, and brothers David Suddarth and Curtis Paul Suddarth.

Gene was well known and greatly loved by many. Earlier in life he enjoyed fishing and deer hunting. Gene grew up in Elsberry, graduating from Elsberry High School. He was employed by Elsberry IGA before continuing his education at Hannibal LaGrange University; where he obtained his Bachelors in Accounting and a Bachelors in Computer Data Information & Processing Systems. He opened Suddarth Tax & Accounting Services in Louisiana, MO and later Co-founded the N.E.I.L.S. (North East Independent Living Services) Center in Hannibal. During his time at N.E.I.LS. he held the positions of President, Vice-President and Treasurer and served as a Board Member there. Additionally, he served as an Ombudsman for V.O.Y.C.E. in Hannibal, providing advocacy services for long term care residents. Gene retired after his muscular dystrophy and cancer diagnosis prevented him from continuing to advocate and serve the disabled community. During his career life Gene was a member of the Louisiana Chamber of Commerce and the National Association of Tax Preparers.

Anyone who knew Gene would attest that despite his many challenges, he always had a smile on his face, that he loved the LORD dearly and wanted you to also.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 19, 2024 from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. and a Funeral Service with Pastor Mark West officiating, immediately following at 1:00 p.m. at the Second Baptist Church Fellowship Hall , 319 W. Church Street, Bowling Green, Missouri.

Serving as pallbearers: Rev. Tim Suddarth, Bronson Holland, Mason Holland, Curtis Joseph Suddarth, Curtis James Suddarth and Austin Suddarth.
