Due to concerns from the coronavirus pandemic Chariton County is under a Stay at Home Order. The order went into effect this morning. It is scheduled to last until April 24th at 8 am. The order can be rescinded or extended between now and April 24th. As a result of this order, Chariton County residents are advised to stay in their home unless they are performing essential activities such as grocery shopping and exercising. Residents are also advised to continue practicing social distancing, especially when performing these essential activities.  Chariton County has four reported cases of the coronavirus and Missouri has now reached over 1,000 positive tests for the virus.
