Reports of new cases of COVID-19 in Chariton County have been gradually going down over the past couple of weeks. However, many health officials are concerned about a potential rise in cases following the Christmas and New Year’s holidays. Chariton County Health Center Administrator Carrie Scheid advises residents to use caution when gathering with family during the holiday season.

Scheid also advises taking a vital precaution after the holiday season is over.

Symptoms being reported among active COVID-19 cases in Chariton County have run the gambit. However, the more common symptoms have included loss of taste or smell and shortness of breath.
