A misdemeanor election offense that was filed against one of the candidates for Randolph County Sheriff in the Republican primary has been dropped. Special Prosecutor Corey Moon from Lewis County filed the charges against Will Barger last month after a complaint was filed about some of Barger’s flyers, ads, and newspaper clippings. Barger says he feels vindicated.

He says the timing of the charge was suspicious.

Barger thanked his supporters, and did not completely rule out a future run for office.
