Centralia Wrestling Holds High Postseason Aspirations

Centralia wrestling coach Luke Gramke recently saw his team win a district title. This year’s postseason format added a sectional round prior to the state tournament but both tournaments have a two week gap in between. Gramke outlines how he goes about keeping his team engaged with a postseason that’s twice as long as normal years.

Centralia is currently the top ranked wrestling team in Class 1. Gramke says leadership has been a team effort this season after last year’s graduations of Trevor Bodine and Grafton Littrell.

The Panthers are loaded with youth talent. Sophomores Brayden Dubes, Jesse Shannon and Brayden Shelton are all returning state medalists while sophomore Kyden Wilkerson is a returning qualifier. Freshmen Weston Ward and Zane Dubes have high aspirations this year.

Gramke was named this year’s MSHSAA Boys Wrestling Coach of the Year. Gramke will join us Friday on Magic City Sports Talk.
