Centralia “Welcomes” Macon For a Clarence Cannon Conference Matchup

The Centralia high school football tour makes a stop in Macon Friday to take on the Tigers in a Clarence Cannon Conference matchup. Friday’s game was originally scheduled to take place at Centralia, but due to COVID-19 regulations in Boone County, the Panthers have only been able to play one home game all year. That hasn’t stopped Centralia as first year coach Tyler Forsee has them out to a 6-0 start, and ranked fifth in the Class 3 poll.

Centralia is coming off a 24-22 win over Bowling Green last week. Meanwhile, the Macon Tigers are 2-3 and look to rebound from a 30-7 loss to Monroe City. Coach Jameson Allen says the offense is playing well, but they need to finish drives.

Centralia’s offense has picked it up as of late. The line is one of the strongest in the CCC, and it has allowed for senior Luke Hunter to have four straight 100 plus yard games on the ground. Allen knows Macon will need to have a strong game on the line of scrimmage.

Macon will be without its starting running back Preston Stewart due to an injury, but there are plenty of other weapons Macon can deploy. Forsee says sound defense will be critical.

Macon has won two of the last three games against Centralia, but the Panthers won last years match 21-7. Friday’s pregame coverage on Glory 97 and centralmoinfo.com begins at 6:25pm. Scott Lunte has the call.
