Voters in Centralia turned down a local use tax and decided to change the length of the mayor’s term during the municipal election last week. City Administrator Heather Russell is not sure if the use tax issue will be placed on the ballot again.
The term of the Centralia mayor will now be changed to three years.
The local use tax was defeated 353-212, while more than 60 percent of the voters approved the three-year term.
