During its June meeting, the Centralia School Board finalized this past year’s district budget and also signed off on the budget for the 2021-22 school year. Centralia Superintendent Dr. Steven Chancellor says the district’s fiscal year 2021 budget turned out well.

That surplus will be rolled over into fiscal year 2022 for the Centralia School District. Chancellor explains the plan for the new budget.

The district does expect to deficit spend during fiscal year 2022. This includes 148,000 dollars in their incidental fund and 219,000 dollars in their capital projects fund. Chancellor says there has been one specific challenge to budgeting during the pandemic.

Despite the uncertainty from the pandemic Chancellor views the Centralia School District’s revenues as stable heading into the new school year.
