Centralia Police Department Looking to Move Forward with Interim Chief
During its meeting Monday night, the Centralia Board of Aldermen selected Nate Stoebe as the city’s interim police chief. Stoebe takes over a department that has seen the resignation of its police chief, two officers, and the firing of another officer. Stoebe said he’s looking to build up both sides during his time as chief.
Bob Bias had served as the Centralia Police Chief for the past three years. However, he resigned recently following the firing of officer Pat McGee for an alleged policy violation. In wake of his resignation Bias says the department will face some hiring challenges going forward.
The search for a permanent Centralia Police Chief is currently underway. Applications for the chief and open police officer positions will be accepted through November 3rd.
