Centralia Native Davis Places in Decathlon at SEC Outdoor Championships

Centralia native Peyton Davis placed sixth in the decathlon at the SEC Outdoor Championships in May. Davis describes his experiences through two years at Tennessee.

COVID struck two weeks after Davis’ freshman indoor season.

Davis referenced a “fake” indoor season because the NCAA granted an extra year of eligibility due to the pandemic. COVID erased outdoor track and field Davis’ freshman year at Tennessee, so he followed this year’s bonus indoor season with his freshman outdoor season. Davis recaps the SEC Outdoor Championships at Texas A&M.

Davis then competed in long jump.

The former Centralia Panther details the rest of the decathlon at the SEC Outdoor Championships.

Davis enters his junior year at Tennessee, which marks his sophomore season in both indoor and outdoor track and field. The Centralia native Davis claimed high jump, long jump, and javelin state championships in his Panther career.
