Caring Community Launches Pilot Food Program

Caring Community has begun piloting a food security program for local communities. The program was applied for by the state and is funded by the Local Food Purchase Assistance Cooperative Agreement. Randolph County Caring Community Executive Director Brian Williams…
The goal of this program is to feed socially disadvantaged people across Caring Community’s 18-county coverage area. Williams says the program is meant to complement area food banks.
The first few boxes for the program have contained roughly 25 pounds of produce. Future boxes will contain protein.
