Cardinal Health In Moberly Will Be Closing

Cardinal Health will permanently close its manufacturing facility in Moberly in the coming months. One-hundred and thirty-one employees will be laid off.

Cardinal Health notified the City of Moberly of its planned closure as required by the 1988 Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification Act, according to City Manager Brian Crane. The WARN letter indicates the first employees will lose their jobs on May 31, and others will be let go on June 30th.

Moberly Area Economic Development Corporation President Randy Asbury said multiple efforts are underway to connect impacted employees with open positions in the area. Hiring events, job fairs, and other measures are planned soon. He said the goal is to diminish or completely eradicate negative impacts to effected employees as quickly as possible.
