A Cairo senior is set to play at the collegiate level. Dual-sport athlete Jacob Davis has committed to MIAA’s Missouri Southern and will play baseball for the Lions. Davis explains why he wanted to go to Joplin.

Davis learned about Missouri Southern this past summer when he played in a travel ball tournament down there. He recalls what his first visit was like with Lions baseball coach Bryce Darnell.

Davis was an All-State outfielder last year for the Bearcats, and took home All-Conference honors. Davis shares how his search went.

Davis discusses what kind of player Missouri Southern will be getting.

As for his senior season on the diamond, Davis wants to have fun, and hopes to help Cairo advance further beyond a district title, which they won last year. You can hear more from Davis on Chariton Valley Magic City Sports Friday at 9:32am on KWIX.
