The Cairo Bearcats picked up a clean sweep of the Paris Coyotes Saturday at the Peak Sport and Spine Holiday Shootout at Moberly Area Community College.

In the girls game, the Lady Cats defeated the Lady Coyotes 50-41. The two teams fought back an forth multiple times through the duration of the game. Cairo took a three point lead early into the fourth quarter and got Paris’ leading scorer Tori Hamilton to foul out of the game. Lady Cat coach Brian Winkler said it was a priority to get her out of the game.

Hamilton finished with nine. Skinner scored a game-high 16 points as the Lady Coyotes drop to 5-4. Cairo was paced by senior Taegan Bartolacci’s 15 points. Freshman Gracie Brumley also pitched in a dozen. They Lady Cats are now 6-2.

In the boys contest, Cairo ran away with a 69-50 victory. The Bearcats controlled most of the game with their size on the boards. The Bearcats held a 39-25 lead at the half, then came out with a final blow early in the third.

Cairo senior Jacob Davis led the way with 18 points. Paris also falls to 5-4 on the year. The Coyotes were led by junior Chris Ebbesmeyer’s 13 points.
