Cairo Baseball Welcomes Salisbury to Honor Seniors and 2020 Season
Cairo baseball hosts Salisbury in an exhibition game to recognize the 2020 season and seniors Wednesday on KRES. Bearcats head coach Morgan Matthews reveals how the schools organized the contest.
Cairo won a district championship last year, and the Bearcats returned senior All-State pitcher Jacob Davis. Matthews says the exhibition allows the 2020 group to exit the right way.
The Cairo seniors are Davis, Jayden Warren, Kenny Brunkhorst, and Tony Cooley. The Bearcats will honor the seniors after the game.
The Salisbury Panthers will provide the opposition for Cairo. Acting Salisbury head coach Doug Sellers says the excitement level at practice has been high.
Several of Salisbury’s younger varsity players and incoming freshmen have been playing in the Moberly Midget League. Sellers expects to work several different pitchers onto the mound against Cairo.
Coverage of Cairo versus Salisbury starts at 5:45 on KRES and centralmoinfo.com with Eric Duick and Colin Schowe on the call.
