Busick Disappointed on Overturning of SAPA

State Representative Danny Busick of Newtown was disappointed a federal court overturned the Second Amendment Preservation Act, but he thinks the Supreme Court will uphold this bill.

There is a stay in place while the state appeals the decision. The Missouri Legislature passed the law in 2021, allowing for police departments to be sued up to 50 thousand dollars for alleged violations of gun rights. A federal judge upheld the Supremacy Clause of the U.S. Constitution in striking down the law.
