Bulldogs Continue Win Streaks Against the Rival Hawks

The Truman women won their 7th straight over Quincy, while the Bulldog men beat the Hawks for the 5th straight time in a sweep of their rivals at Pepsi Arena Monday night.

In the women’s game, Truman outscored Quincy by 12 in the second quarter and cruised to a 64-57 victory. The Bulldogs were down two in the second when they finished the half on an 18-6 run aided by the three-ball…..

Brad Boyer with the call on Superstation KRES and centralmoinfo.com. Hannah Belanger led the Bulldogs with 14 points. Coach Theo Dean watched his squad beat the Hawks on the boards 51-30….

Maddie Re grabbed 16 rebounds. Sloane Totta had a career-high eight rebounds and scored 12 points. The Bulldogs improve to 11-4 overall and 7-1 in the Great Lakes Valley Conference. Quincy drops to 6-10 and 2-6 in the GLVC.

In the men’s game, Brodric Thomas scored 28 points and collected nine rebounds. while Cade McKnight posted a career-high 27 points to lead the Bulldogs to an 84-70 victory over Quincy. Thomas helped the Bulldogs get some separation in the first half with eight straight points…..

Both Thomas and McKnight had six assists. Coach Jeff Horner talked about the big night for his duo….

Turner Scott added 17 points and six assists. Tanner Stuckman had 27 in a losing cause for Quincy. The Hawks had their four game winning streak halted and drop to 10-6 and 4-4 in the GLVC. Truman notched its 5th straight win to improve to 7-1 in the conference and 11-5 overall.

The Truman teams head to Evansville to play Southern Indiana on Thursday. We will broadcast the games on KRES starting at 5:15.

The Cardinals Caravan made a stop at Pepsi Arena during the doubleheader.
