Representative Kendrick Says Budget Outlook for Missouri Still Unclear

When the state legislature passed the budget amid the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic it was known the budget would likely be temporary. Ranking Minority Member of the House Budget Committee, Kip Kendrick, explains what the thought process was behind the passage of the current budget.

However, that anticipated federal funding likely won’t arrive by the time fiscal year 2021 begins Wednesday.

Governor Parson previously announced a series of withholds to the budget in early June. Kendrick is hopeful more aid will arrive to help fully balance the budget and offset any further withholds.
