The Missouri Legislature was able to successfully pass a balanced state budget of 35.2 billion dollars. Representative Cheri Toalson Reisch says the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic presented a challenge when it came to balancing the budget.

Highlights of the budget included the K-through-12 education foundation formula being fully funded. Toalson Reisch says another notable was twelve-million dollars for broadband expansion in Missouri.

While the passage of the budget was an accomplishment for the legislature, Toalson Reisch indicates their budget work isn’t over yet.

The 2020 Missouri Legislative Session concluded last Friday.
