Brian Terry Discusses Removal as Macon Board of Public Works President
Earlier this week the Macon City Council voted to remove Board of Public Works President Brian Terry from his position. This came after the council had tabled ordinances during its September meeting to remove Terry as president and to form the Macon Municipal Utility Advisory Board. Terry says there had been positive talks between the two sides since that meeting.
However, the council still voted to remove Terry with one dissenting vote. They also voted to not form the advisory board. The council had previously cited city code violations, Sunshine Law violations and refusing to release documents by the board. Terry says he’s concerned for the future of the board.
The Macon Board of Public Works has been operating without a general manager for five months since Stephanie Wilson resigned. Terry served four years on the board including the past two as president.
