Boonville’s Mark Anderson Returns to Moberly; Lady Spartans See Perennial Power
Moberly welcomes former NCMC member Boonville for a nonconference doubleheader Thursday on KIRK. The matchup signifies first-year Boonville head coach Mark Anderson’s return to Moberly High School, where he guided the Spartans for seven years.
Anderson left Moberly for Jefferson City after the 2016-17 season. Spartans head coach Cord Hagedorn assisted Anderson, then replaced the current Boonville coach on the Moberly sidelines.
Hagedorn says it will be a challenge to face Anderson’s 5-1 Pirates.
The Spartans sit 1-4. The 3-3 Lady Spartans face a perennial power in the first game of the doubleheader. Head coach Tony Vestal shares the keys opposite the Lady Pirates.
Jaryt Hunziker’s 5-1 Boonville team defeated Macon in the Centralia Tournament championship Friday.
