Boonville Police Arrest Teen After Shots Fired Incident Monday

The Boonville Police Department is reminding residents to lock their vehicles and take valuables with them, after a handgun and wallet were stolen from one early Monday morning. Around 1:15, officers and Cooper County Sheriff’s Office deputies were in the area of the Boonville Lions Park Aquatic Center when they heard several nearby gunshots. Officers stopped a suspect vehicle, and found the driver was an unlicensed, underage juvenile. During a search of the vehicle, officers found marijuana, a semi-automatic handgun, and ammunition. They also found spent cartridge cases and a stolen wallet in the road. The juvenile was turned over to a juvenile officer.
