Boonville Man Injured While Making Explosive Device

Boonville Police responded to a residence in the 900 block of Ravenel Street around 7:20am Friday about a patient with a badly bleeding cut to the hand. Officers discovered 43-year-old Ryan Brooks had suffered serious injuries to his hand and abdomen. An investigation revealed Brooks accidently detonated a homemade explosive device inside the basement of the house while he was in the process of making the device. Officers seized from the home precursor chemicals and other paraphernalia used in the manufacturing of improvised explosive devices as well as methamphetamine and associated drug paraphernalia. No arrests have been made at this time.
