Bohm Brilliant in Shutout Victory for Moberly

The Moberly Spartans used timely offense and brilliant pitching from Cade Bohm to defeat Centralia 3-0 Tuesday night. The game was scoreless in the bottom of the third when Mitchell Bruce scratched out a run for the Spartans.

Colin Schowe with the call on Glory 97.3 and centralmoinfo.com. The game remained 1-0 until the sixth inning when Moberly capitalized on two Centralia errors to push the lead to 3-0. Bohm ensured that would be enough as he pitched a complete-game shutout with eleven strikeouts, one walk, and four hits allowed. Moberly manager Tony Vestal analyzed his pitcher’s performance.

Moberly played error-free defense behind Bohm and outhit Centralia 7-4 for the game. Vestal said his offense did a good job battling in each at-bat.

Ethan Adams was the lone Panther to reach base twice with a single and a walk. Centralia manager Mike Rodgers said his team couldn’t solve Bohm over the course of the game.

All three runs the Panthers allowed were unearned. Centralia’s defense committed three errors for the game. Rodgers said they’re mistakes they can learn from.

Adams suffered the tough-luck loss going four innings while allowing one run on three hits and striking out four. Centralia falls to 4-9 while Moberly improves to 9-6.
