Blanca Aramayo
In loving memory of our Mother, Mother-in-law and Grandmother, Blanca Aramayo, 75, of Bowling Green who passed away on Friday, July 19, 2024, at the Mercy Hospital of Troy Missouri surrounded by her loving family.
Visitation celebrating Blanca’s life will be Friday, July 26 from 4-7p.m. at Bibb-Veach Funeral Home, and Saturday, July 27 Visitation continues from 9 a.m. until the time of the services at St. Clement Church. Mass of Christian burial scheduled for 10:00a.m., with Fr. Tom Alber officiating. Burial will follow in St. Clement Cemetery.
Blanca was born February 24, 1949, in Ayaviri, Puno, Peru, the daughter of Celestino Aramayo Gonzalez and Enriqueta Vega Aguilar. Survivors include her daughter, Carmen Niemeyer; her son-in-law, Jim Niemeyer; her grandson, Salvador Niemeyer, her sisters-in-law, and many nieces, nephews, and extended family and friends.
Blanca was preceded in death by her parents Celestino and Enriqueta, and her brothers Cesar, Luis, Carlos, Roberto, Alfredo, Alberto, and her sister Eva.
Blanca graduated from the local schools in Puno, Peru. After she finished High School, the family moved to Lima and Blanca enrolled in a nursing program. Upon graduation, she began working in the Pediatric Department of the Regional Hospital “Daniel Alcides Carrion” of the Callao district of Lima. A few years later, she transferred to the Surgical Operating Services of the Emergency Department at the hospital. She frequently worked different shifts during the day and overnight hours and volunteered to assist patients with their needs both medical and social-emotional. She was very appreciated by her colleagues, medical staff, and patients because she was there when they needed her. At her retirement after 36 years, she was recognized with many honors.
In addition, her family ran a bus service in coordination with a local transportation company. Blanca served as an officer of the board of directors for the company.
In 2010, Blanca moved to Bowling Green, to live with our family especially to be with her grandson whom she loved very much.
Blanca was known and respected by family, colleagues, neighbors and friends as a Wonderful Daughter, Sister, Mom, Grandmom, Aunt, Friend. She was a caring and loving person, happy, friendly, honesty, ready to reach out to her friends and neighbors especially assisting them with their medical needs, fundraising for their financial needs, encouraging everyone to follow their dreams and grow as individuals and community, and to value their education. Blanca enjoyed traveling with family and friends, getting to know new places and people. She loved flowers, especially roses and sunflowers, and she loved the family dogs. She enjoyed reading, knitting and crochet, paper crafting, and was a big fan of the soccer teams.
Blanca was devoted to El Señor de Los Milagros, La Virgen del Carmen, and la Virgen de Guadalupe. She faithfully attended the Hispanic Mass in the parish and followed via television the Cathedral Mass from Lima.
