A bill filed by Senator Cindy O’Laughlin would modify provisions relating to the power of eminent domain for utility purposes. The Shelbina Republican says this has been an issue residents of her district have been interested in for a long time.

The bill is similar to one that was considered during the last legislative session.

O’Laughlin explain specifically what her bill would do.

At this point, another hearing on Senate Bill 604 has not been scheduled. It’s currently in the Commerce, Consumer Protection, Energy and the Environment Committee.
