BIG 4TH INNING CARRIES SALISBURY PAST MAYSVILLE AND INTO THE TITLE GAME
The hit was Bartholemew’s second double of the day as she went 2-4 at the plate. Salisbury coach Nate King said Bartholemew’s second double was pivotal.
Bryn Wooldridge would add a two-run home run in the top of the seventh to cap a 14 hit attack for the Lady Panthers against Maysville starting pitcher Sadie Smith. King said they had a particular focus against Smith.
Wooldridge pitched the full seven innings for Salisbury while allowing three runs on six hits. She struck out nine Maysville batters and walked only two. With the win Salisbury will face Canton in the Class 1 Championship tomorrow (Saturday) at noon. Canton beat Stoutland 4-1. Salisbury is seeking its first state title since 2002, while Canton is playing for its second title in three years. Colin Schowe will have the call on KTCM Glory 97.3 with pregame coverage scheduled for 11:35am.
