As previously reported, Marceline senior Cullen Bruner plans to sign with Benedictine football in the near future. The three-time KRES All-Star kicker describes his visit to the NAIA program in Atchison, Kansas.

Bruner set a Marceline record with a 49-yard field goal against Scotland County in the season opener. Marceline head coach Mark Ross says Benedictine landed a special talent.

Ross’ 12-2 Tigers reached the state semifinals as Bruner collected unanimous Lewis and Clark Offensive Player of the Year honors. The senior rushed for 1,886 yards and 33 touchdowns in addition to his First Team All-State kicker status. Bruner reflects on his Marceline athletic career.

Bruner made 21 of 35 career field goals and 82 percent of extra points. He hit a 40-plus yard field goal each of the last three years. Bruner also finished second at state wrestling this winter. The senior looks to study special education or elementary education at Benedictine.
