BELLFLOWER MAN INJURED IN ACCIDENT WHILE FLEEING POLICE

A Bellflower man was seriously injured in an accident that happened as he fled from law enforcement east of Auxvasse. Around 10:50pm Tuesday, the Highway Patrol says 23-year-old Thomas Lawrence was fleeing from police on Route B, near the intersection of County Road 1017, when he hit spike strips in his vehicle, went off the left side of the road and overturned in his car. Lawrence was charged with operating a motor vehicle in a careless and imprudent manner and resisting arrest by fleeing before being released for treatment, then taken to Columbia.
