Belanger-GLVC Player Of The Week

Truman’s Hannah Belanger was selected as the Great Lakes Valley Conference women’s basketball Player of the Week. The senior averaged 21.3 points in three Bulldog wins last week to extend their conference-leading winning streak to five games.

Belanger has scored 20 or more points in seven of the ten games played this season and leads the GLVC in scoring at 22.9 per game. She is 10th in all of the NCAA Division II. Last week, she passed Jennifer Perkins (1,461 points) and Angie Gum (1,467 points) to move into fifth place on the Bulldog career scoring list. Belanger has 1,473 points in 88 games played.

She scored 21 in Truman’s 86-75 home win over Indianapolis last Monday, tallied 14 points with seven rebounds in a 71-65 win at Lewis, and then on Saturday scored 29 points with five three-pointers in a 86-79 victory over Illinois Springfield in earning her third GLVC Player of the Week award.

It’s back-to-back Player Of The Week awards for Truman State women’s basketball. Last week, Ellie Weltha was the recipient.
