Beef Advocate Aims To Create “Judgment-Free Zone” For Chats About Food Production

A Jefferson City cattle producer says training she’s received through the Beef Trailblazers program will help her to create spaces for consumers to approach her with questions about what’s going on their dinner table.  Macey Hurst was in Orlando last week at the Cattle Industry Convention with other members of this year’s class.  She tells Regional Radio that it’s important for consumers to have the right information.

Hurst adds that she hopes to carry on conversations about food production in a “judgment-free zone”.

Macey Hurst of Jefferson City was part of the second Beef Trailblazers class.  Ten young beef producers and advocates are selected each year to take part in the program, receiving extensive training and education about how to best speak up for the industry.
