Bass Reflects on Rise of North Shelby 8-Man Football

Last week, North Shelby eight-man Football coach Seth Bass announced he would be leaving the district at the end of the school year. Bass took over the program five years ago when it started from scratch. Bass says building the eight-man program at North Shelby has been exciting.

Bass accepted a job with Northland Christian over the weekend to start the eight-man football program from scratch. During Bass’ five years, the Raiders made back-to-back state quarterfinal appearances and came out on the winning side of Missouri’s highest scoring high school football game in 2019. Despite the success, Bass says another memory sticks out.

Bass compiled a 31-23 record in his five years as North Shelby’s coach. The Raiders return seven of eight starters on both sides of the ball in 2021.
