Barner and Stein Filling Interim MATC Director Role

The Moberly Board of Education approved a plan for Mike Barner and Leah Stein to share duties as interim director of the Moberly Area Technical Center. Barner is a former MATC Director that retired in 2016 after 33 years in education. Stein has worked in the Moberly School District for 20 years and retired after this past school year as the MATC Career Resource Coordinator. Both Barner and Stein will work on a part-time basis and a formal search for the next director will begin later in the school year.

MATC Director Sam Richardson died Saturday, July 31. Celebration of Life will be Saturday at 11:00 at the high school football field with a memorial visitation Friday from 4-7:00 in the Moberly High School gym. Casual clothes and/or Spartan colors are welcome. The service will also be live streamed by the Moberly Spartan Booster Club. Attendees are asked to wear masks and socially distance. Memorials may be made to the Sam Richardson Memorial Scholarship Fund, in care of the Moberly Public School Foundation. Pathway Memorial Funeral Home in Moberly is in charge of arrangements.
