Auxvasse Police Chief Reinstated

Following an investigation conducted by the Auxvasse mayor, city council, and city staff the city’s police chief Kevin Suedmeyer has been re-instated with a verbal warning. Suedmeyer was placed on administrative leave Friday after he made a post on his personal facebook page suggesting that protestors should be run over and shot, as well as wanting them to contract COVID-19. The ensuing investigation involved a review of Suedmeyer’s social media posts, his personnel records, and a review of any prior complaints. The City of Auxvasse is also pursuing a review of its personnel policy in light of recent events and an ongoing commitment to recognize the individual rights of all citizens and visitors.
