Authorities Investigating Fatal Shooting in Fayette

Law enforcement are on the scene of a fatal shooting in Fayette. At around 1:15 pm Monday a witness called in to report a man had been shot to death inside a vehicle on Hackberry Street. Howard County Sheriff Mike Neal says a potential suspect has been revealed early in the investigation.

Evidence technicians arrived on the scene late this afternoon. Neal explains how the investigation will proceed.

The victim’s identity is being withheld until next of kin is notified.  The Fayette Police Department is leading the investigation with the Howard County Sheriff’s Department providing assistance.
