August 8th Special Election Results

A handful of area ballot issues were decided Tuesday. In Shelby County, voters rejected Proposition Raiders from the North Shelby School District by a vote of 285-197. The proposal would have increased the operating levy from $3.9019 to $5.3519 per hundred dollars of assessed valuation for staff salaries, facility maintenance, and operating expenses. A similar measure in the Lewis County C-1 School District called Proposition K.I.D.S. was soundly defeated with 87 percent voting against it.

Keytesville voters approved the three percent marijuana sales tax by a vote of 17-4. In Linn County’s Consolidated Public Water Supply District Number 1 97 percent of the ballots cast approved a two-million dollar bond issue.
