The State Auditor’s Office says its Public Corruption and Fraud Division is reviewing a whistleblower’s allegation about operations in the City of Macon. The office received the complaint January 21st. While this review is not an audit, at times these investigations by the Public Corruption and Fraud Division, can lead to one. We reached out to Macon officials for a comment, and were provided this email response from City Administrator Avis Marshall. –quote “I apologize that I do not have a comment on this as the City of Macon has not been contacted by the State Auditor’s Office.” –end quote– The State Auditor’s Office has indicated that it will keep us informed as the process moves forward.
