Atlanta Welcomes La Plata For Tri-County Doubleheader

Tri County neighbors Atlanta and La Plata meet for a varsity doubleheader Tuesday night in Atlanta. In the boys contest, the La Plata Bulldogs are winners of five of their last six as they enter the matchup 5-4. Coach Greg Buescher reveals how they’ve improved from an 0-3 start.

The Bulldogs take on an 8-2 Atlanta Hornet squad who only saw two wins one year ago. First year head coach Jason White says the group has been a lot more hungry this year.

White previously coached the Linn County Mustangs to a state semifinal trip last March.

In the girls fare, both the Lady Hornets and Lady Bulldogs are seeking to gather some momentum into the final month of the regular season. Nathan Simler’s Lady Bulldogs are 5-5 but have lost three straight.

The Lady Hornets enter the matchup 4-6. First year coach Miranda White says Atlanta is taking steps in the right direction.
