The Atlanta Hornets ended the 2021-22 season with a loss in the district championship game to North Shelby. With a strong core of the roster returning this season, coach Jason White says his team is ready to take the next step in the postseason.
The Hornets return their top two scorers from last season in Roman Phillips and Landon Gilliland. White says both players provide solid leadership for the team.
A total of 23 kids are out for the team this season. White says he’s been particularly impressed by one section of his roster.
The Hornets have compiled a 50-19 record during White’s first three years at the school. They’d won six total games in the three seasons prior. You can hear full interviews with coach White and other area boys’ basketball coaches during Wednesday’s tipoff show on KRES 104.7, beginning at 5:35.
