Annual Meetings For Missouri Farm Groups Underway

Missouri affiliates of the nation’s two largest farmer organizations are meeting Monday for their annual meetings.  In Osage Beach, the 107th Annual Meeting of Missouri Farm Bureau has returned to Margaritaville Lake Resort.  Farm Bureau President Garrett Hawkins says with limited business conducted at last year’s virtual meeting, Monday afternoon’s business session will likely involve increased floor discussions.

Missouri Farmers Union is keeping its annual meeting online, which takes place over lunch the next two Mondays.  However, Farmers Union president Tom Coudron notes that their business session will be delayed to the spring, with the hopes of conducting it in person.  He highlights several of their potential policy items.

Business for both groups will feed into their respective national organizations’ conventions.  The American Farm Bureau Federation’s convention is set for next month in Atlanta, while the National Farmers Union will gather at the end of February in Denver.
