Anglers Reminded to Keep Minmum Length Rule in Mind When Fishing for Catfish on Mark Twain Lake

Summer is prime time for catching catfish on Missouri lakes and rivers, but most Missouri waterways have different rules for them. Monroe County Conservation Agent Jessica Filla says there’s one notable difference on Mark Twain Lake.

There is no minimum length limit for channel catfish. Filla explains how to properly measure a catfish.

Filla says fish that are undersized must be returned to the water immediately even if they’ve swallowed a hook.

The daily and possession limits for catfish on Mark Twain Lake are the standard state limits for all three species.
