Alabama Softball Featured at Fundraising Event for Knox County Families in Need

A special fundraising event will be held on November 11th at 7 pm at Knox County High School. Proceeds from the event will go to the families of Bryant Western and Alijah Berry to pay for their medical bills. The event will feature 2010 Knox County graduate and current Alabama softball coach Lance McMahon along with former Crimson Tide pitcher Montana Fouts. McMahon discusses how this event was organized.
Fouts is a native of Grayson, Kentucky which has a population of just over 4,000. McMahon says Fouts reflects those small-town roots.
Fouts concluded her college career this past spring with 100 career wins and was named the Softball America Pitcher of the Year and recipient of the Honda Sport Award. McMahon details some of the donation opportunities at the upcoming fundraiser.
Proceeds will be split between the two families. Bryant Western is still hospitalized following an ATV accident in January and Alijah Berry was diagnosed with leukemia this past spring.
