The scheduled week-long murder trial of James Addie from Mexico, that was supposed to take place this week in Jefferson City, on a change of venue from Monroe County, has been postponed until just after the first of the year. Monroe County Prosecuting Attorney Talley Kendrick-Smith explains what happened.

Addie is accused of murdering his mistress near Middle Grove in April of 2018, and faces charges of first degree murder and armed criminal action for allegedly shooting 35-year-old Molly Watson of Huntsville.

The State Attorney General’s Office is providing assistance with the prosecution of the case. A pretrial conference has been scheduled for December 22.
