Accident on Highway 63 Leaves Two Injured
An accident on southbound Highway 63 early Friday evening in Boone County left two people injured. The accident occurred just before 6 pm on southbound Highway 63, just south of Highway 124 west. According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol the accident occurred when a pickup truck driven by 37-year-old Brandon Lightfoot of Fayette turned south onto Highway 63 from Highway 124 south and collided with a car driven by 25-year-old Dimetri Mattingly of Moberly. Both vehicles traveled off the left side of the road. While Lightfoot’s truck came to rest on the left shoulder of southbound 63, Mattingly’s car came to rest in the left lane of northbound 63 and was hit by a car driven by 49-year-old Oliver Oerly of Moberly. Mattingly suffered serious injuries while Lightfoot had moderate injuries. Both were taken to Columbia. Oerly was uninjured in the accident. Mattingly wasn’t wearing a seatbelt at the time of the accident. Northbound traffic was delayed for multiple hours as crews worked to clear the accident scene.
